Debbie Lanin is a Professor at Touro Law School. She also maintains a private practice. She is the one that other lawyers call when they need help with their legal research and writing for memoranda of law in complex civil litigation in state and federal courts. She is also currently a Senior Legal Consultant on eDiscovery for Cyber Diligence, Inc., a computer forensics firm, that provides expert assistance to other law firms. Professor Lanin has given seminars at numerous law firms and Bar associations on Long Island to teach other attorneys how to draft motions in Federal court and about the basics of eDiscovery.
Professor Lanin gained invaluable experience working in the Federal Courts for more than 9 years. She was a career law clerk for United States District Judge Denis R. Hurley in the Eastern District of New York for nearly eight years and a term law clerk for United States Magistrate Judge Robert M. Levy in the Eastern District of New York for fifteen months. Prior to her Federal Clerkships, Professor Lanin was associated with two prestigious Manhattan firms: Lane & Mittendorf LLP (now Windels Marx Lane & Mittendorf, LLP) and Squadron, Ellenoff, Plesent & Sheinfeld, LLP, where she was a litigator.
