B.S. Government, Politics, & Pre-Law; Dean’s List

Shadá (pronounced “Shah-day”) is Mr. Lanin’s paralegal and legal assistant. She assists the firm with commercial litigation, foreclosure and loan modification, bankruptcy, business and real estate law, and collection/creditor’s rights matters. She is a graduate of St. John’s University where she studied Government, Politics and Pre-Law classes. During college, she wrote an academic article that was published in the St. John’s College of Professional Studies Legal Apprentice journal.

Shadá worked while she attended college full time and learned how to handle multiple responsibilities. She was previously employed by MIQ Logistics for 2 years, a global supply chain company with operations that span the world, with offices in Asia, Europe, Latin America and North America. She started as an administrative assistant and later worked as an import coordinator. Prior to that, Shada worked as a human resources assistant for Starstone (f/k/a Torus U.S. Services), a global property and casualty insurance carrier, where she worked on compiling data for personnel  projects and reports, creating payroll spreadsheets, maintaining personnel records, and handling office administration. She also previously worked as a telemarketer for St. John’s University to help raise donations for the school. Her prior work experience for two global corporations and a major University and her college training has helped her develop excellent customer service, schedule management, and office administration skills. 

On a personal note, Shadá is a talented dancer. She was inducted into the All State Dance Team when she was a senior at Saint Dominic Academy in Jersey City, New Jersey, where she was a finalist for the Senior Scholarship Award sponsored by the New Jersey Cheerleading and Dance Coaches Association.

Shadá is a team member who is highly organized. She has the professional skills needed to multi-task projects and meet the demands of a busy, successful law office.  She has the professional skills that are an integral part of a busy, successful law office. She is trained in several programs, including MS Word, Wordperfect, MS Outlook, Amicus Cloud File Management, Adobe Acrobat, Bankruptcy Pro, Westlaw, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint.

Shadá is also bilingual (English and Spanish). Her duties include managing the firm’s litigation calendar, drafting and filing legal documents and managing our office. She is our client liason, communicating with clients in person, by phone and by email. Our clients find her positive demeanor and helpful attitude reassuring.
