BACKGROUND
Francesca Perez is Mr. Lanin’s paralegal and legal assistant. She assists the firm with commercial litigation, foreclosure and loan modification, bankruptcy, business and real estate law, collection/creditor’s rights matters, and office administration.
Francesca will be graduating from St. John’s University in December 2024 with a bachelor’s degree in legal studies and a minor in court administration. She was on the Dean List’s for three consecutive years and maintains a 3.98 GPA. She is an honors student and part of the Collins College of Professional Studies Honors Society, Lambda Epsilon Chi Honors Society for Paralegal and Legal Studies, and the National Society of Leadership and Success.
Francesca previously worked as an office assistant at On-Point Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning Corp. Her responsibilities included assisting the Executive Officer with office administration and management, billing and legal documents, and communications with customers and vendors.
She has the professional skills and training that are an integral part of a busy, successful law office. Her prior experience and training makes her well-suited to manage multiple responsibilities. She has excellent management, interpersonal, multitasking, and communication skills. She is a team member with a positive demeanor who is organized and focuses on detail and high accuracy.
Francesca is trained in several programs, including Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Clio Manage (Cloud File Management), Clio Grow (New Client Intake and Tracking). She assists Attorney Scott Lanin with the preparation of court documents, including summons and complaints, answers, subpoenas, affidavits, legal briefs (memoranda of law), and exhibits, and with online searches and e-filing on NYSCEF, the New York State Case Electronic Filing System. She conducts research on the New York City tax site, ACRIS. Her duties include managing the firm’s litigation calendar, drafting and filing legal documents, and managing our office (administration and billing), and acting as our client liaison.
